Julia Roberts’ Pizza Passion On The ‘Eat Pray Love’ Set

Julia Roberts takes a bountiful journey in “Eat Pray Love,” out August 13, and while filming the movie in Italy, the actress indulged.
“When we were in Naples, we started shooting at 8 in the morning, and I think by 8:45 I’d eaten eight or 10 pieces of pizza,” Julia told Entertainment Weekly Senior Writer Dave Karger. “Pizza was what I ate all day.”
The actress confessed that eating the carb-heavy food did take its toll.
“By the time we left Rome, I was seven to 10 pounds heavier,” Julia told the mag, which features the beauty on its cover this week. “I could’ve used a bigger pair of jeans when I went off to India!”
At a stunning 42-years-young, Julia said she is comfortable at her age, but does obsess over her looks now and again.
“I’m human. Sometimes I, like anybody, wake up in the morning and go, ‘F—. Really? This is the starting point?’” she said.

State Investigators Won’t File Charges Against 7 Doctors Who Treated Michael Jackson

State investigators probing the death of Michael Jackson have decided not to file charges against seven doctors who treated him, authorities said Wednesday.
The doctors were part of an investigation by state Attorney General Jerry Brown’s Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, spokeswoman Christine Gasparac said.
One doctor whose name was not released has been referred to the California Medical Board for prescribing drugs to a Jackson alias, she said.
Candis Cohen, a board spokeswoman, declined to confirm the action, saying complaints and investigations were not public record.
Jackson’s personal doctor, Conrad Murray, has pleaded not guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter in the singer’s death. Authorities say Murray provided Jackson with a mix of sedatives, including a powerful anesthetic that killed him.
Los Angeles police who investigated the death had asked state and federal investigators to look into the prescribing practices of doctors who previously treated the 50-year-old pop star.
The federal Drug Enforcement Agency has also stopped investigating the actions of any other Jackson doctors, agency spokeswoman Sarah Pullen said.
The state investigation included the search of a prescription drug database that tracks doctors who prescribe controlled substances. The database also monitors the quantity and recipients of those drugs.

Natalie Portman On Chris Hemsworth’s Rise To Fame: ‘He’s Going To Be Able To Handle All Of That’

Following his appearnace at Comic-Con, Chris Hemsworth left fanboys — and girls — in awe of his muscular “Thor” physique.
As it turns out, the fans aren’t the only ones who have taken a liking to this rising star — his co-star Natalie Portman is a big fan, too.
While promoting the film, Natalie, who plays Jane Foster, a nurse and the first love of Chris’ title character, spoke with AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman about the Aussie actor and the upcoming fame he is sure to gain from this landing this action-packed role.
“He’s so grounded, kind and just a nice, normal person,” she said. “I know he’s going to be able to handle all of that with incredible grace. He already has.”
Chris’ star status will change dramatically as he stars as “Thor,” the hammer-wielding superhero fans have come to love from the Marvel comic book. For the role, he bulked up in muscle mass to fill out his character’s nice, big red cape. He even shows off a long blonde wig.
However, it’s not just his strapping good looks that had his co-star in awe — Natalie also beamed over Chris’ demeanor, calling him a “decent” and “deeply good” guy.
“I know that everything will change for him in terms of career and notoriety,” she added.
Chris is best known from his most prominent (although brief) role as Kirk’s dad in 2009’s reboot of “Star Trek.” “Thor” marks his first starring role.
“Thor,” which centers around the Norse warrior cast down to Earth to live among humans, hits theatres on May 6, 2011.

Mel Gibson Rants About Timothy Dalton In Latest Audio Tape

The latest released Mel Gibson/Oksana Grigorieva recording drags in the former “James Bond” star Timothy Dalton, who is the father of the Russian singer’s 12-year-old son.
“Did you get my last message about me being a bad father, and Tim being a great dad now?” Mel, who was spotted over the weekend by the paparazzi for the first time since the scandal broke, reportedly said in the latest recording posted on Radar Online.
The new tape shows Gibson’s rage took a jealous turn as he brought up Dalton, urging Grigorieva to seek out the former 007 in the expletive-laden rant.
Dalton told the paparazzi he had “no comment” about the situation, when they caught up with him over the weekend.
This is the seventh audio tape of Gibson released by Radar Online – reportedly recorded in February – where he heaps verbal abuse against Grigorieva, the mother of his then 3-month old daughter Lucia.
“You f***ing ruined me!” Gibson reportedly said. “I’m so mad, I’m so angry and this is not the nicotine, this is the truth. You f***ing don’t love me one bit, you know it.”
Gibson attempted to quit smoking several times during his yearlong relationship with Grigorieva and reportedly had used that as an excuse for his alleged abusive behavior.

On Sunday, the actress’ legal counsel, Shawn Chapman Holley, told media, “she has made friends.”

“The deputies have treated her respectfully (and she them),” Holley also said.

‘Inception’ Trumps ‘Salt’ With $43.5M Weekend Box Office

Leonardo DiCaprio’s “Inception” has won a battle of superstar action thrillers over Angelina Jolie’s “Salt” at the weekend box office.
“Inception” remained the No. 1 movie for the second-straight weekend with $43.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The Warner Bros. thriller featuring DiCaprio as leader of a team that sneaks into people’s dreams raised its 10-day total to $143.7 million.
Sony’s spy caper “Salt” debuted a solid No. 2 with $36.5 million. The movie stars Jolie as a CIA operative who goes rogue after she’s accused of being a Russian sleeper agent.
Coming in at No. 3 with $24.1 million was Steve Carell’s family hit “Despicable Me.” The animated comedy raised its domestic total to $161.7 million.
In a rare convergence of fresh ideas, the top three movies all were original stories, not sequels or adaptations of comic books, best-sellers, video games or other pre-existing material.
“Typically in summer, all we’re seeing are rehashes and sequels and reboots, whatever you want to call them,” said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. “To have original stories as the top-three films is a lesson to studios that maybe audiences are open to more originality in the summer and to perhaps not play it so safe, even though that goes against the grain of every fiber in every studio executive’s being.”
The weekend’s other new wide release, 20th Century Fox’s family comedy “Ramona and Beezus,” took in $8 million to finish at No. 6. The movie is based on Beverly Cleary’s children’s books about a teenage girl and her accident-prone little sister.
“Inception” hung in strongly in its second weekend, its total down just 31 percent from its $62.8 million opening. During the busy summer, top hits often drop 50 percent or more in the second weekend and rarely repeat as the No. 1 movie.
The film will quickly shoot past the $200 million mark at the domestic box office and has a good shot at topping $300 million, said Dan Fellman, head of distribution at Warner Bros.
Repeat business is accounting for a good share of “Inception” revenues as fans return to delve deeper into the labyrinthine story concocted by writer-director Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight”).
“There’s so much on the screen. It’s so original and so smart that it raises questions that I think can be answered in different ways if you see the movie multiple times,” Fellman said.
While young males usually make up the bulk of the action audience, women and older crowds were the core fans of Jolie’s “Salt.” Females accounted for 53 percent of viewers, while 59 percent of the audiencewas older than 25, according to Sony.
“What the movie really has going for it just a kick-ass performance by Angelina Jolie,” said Rory Bruer, head of distribution for Sony. “It just speaks well to the viability of our film for many weeks to come that you have such an incredible hold for ‘Inception,’ and we’re still able to open our picture. We coexisted really nicely.”
Overall revenues rose for the fourth-straight weekend as Hollywood continued to recover from a box-office swoon earlier in the summer. Receipts totaled $164 million, up 11 percent from the same weekend last year, when “G-Force” was No. 1 with $31.7 million.
Revenues this season are at $3 billion, about 3 percent ahead of the record pace of summer 2009. But accounting for higher ticket prices, movie attendance is down 3.4 percent compared to last summer’s, according to Hollywood.com.
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Final figures will be released Monday.
1. “Inception,” $43.5 million.
2. “Salt,” $36.5 million.

French Nuns To Record For Label With Lady Gaga, Eminem On Roster

Decca Records says a group of Benedictine nuns in southern France will record an album for the British label.
Decca is part of Universal Music, which produces albums for stars like The Rolling Stones, Eminem, Amy Winehouse, U2 and Lady Gaga.
The nuns of the Abbaye de Notre Dame de l’Annonciation near the southern French city of Avignon were chosen after worldwide search for female Gregorian chant performers.
Their debut album, “Voices – Chant from Avignon,” will feature an ancient style of the Gregorian Chant which the nuns at convent sing at least 8 times a day starting before dawn.
This style of music first gained a popular audience through Enigma’s run of chart successes in the 1990s.
The album release is planned for November.

Angelina Jolie Gets ‘Salt’-y At Comic-Con

Angelina Jolie wasted no time heading down to the San Diego Comic-Con International.
Access Hollywood sources claimed to have spotted the “Salt” star making a brief appearance at the movie’s booth at the popular convention’s Preview Night on Wednesday.
However, Sony, the studio behind the film, apparently wants Angelina’s alleged appearance kept under wraps – the studio told Access the sighting report was “not true” when asked for comment.
Comic-Con’s “Salt” panel kicks off in Hall H at 1 PM today. Update, 2:45 PM: Angelina did indeed appear at the panel, rocking a black leather jacket and discussing her action-packed performance.
Not in attendance at Comic-Con, however, was Angelina’s partner, Brad Pitt — the “Megamind” star was absent at the DreamWorks Animation film’s panel on Thursday, replaced next to co-stars Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and Jonah Hill with a cardboard cut-out of himself.
“Unfortunately, since Angelina’s here, Brad had to watch the kids,” director Tom McGrath joked.
“Salt” is due in theaters on Friday. Keep an eye on Media all week for the latest details from the convention floor!

Jail Is ‘Saving’ Lindsay Lohan’s Life : Sharon Osbourne

The Osbourne family knows a thing or two about the fight against addiction – and matriarch Sharon Osbourne told Media that she thinks that Judge Marsha Revel saved Lindsay Lohan’s life by sending her to jail.
“I think it’s saving her life,” the “America’s Got Talent” judge told Access on Wednesday. “The judge has been the only one to give tough love and that’s what she needs right now. I know she doesn’t think so, but she’s going to look back on her life in a few months and she’s going to go, ‘Thank you, God.’”
Lindsay entered jail on Tuesday and is expected to be locked up for two weeks – only a portion of her 90-day sentence.
“It’s not going to cure her,” Sharon said. “But hopefully it will be enough time on her own for her to rethink her life.”
Lindsay spent several days in a sober-living house, the Pickford Lofts in Los Angeles, before beginning her jail time.
As previously reported on Media, court documents have revealed that Lindsay is using a number of prescription medications. Reported on Wednesday that the star will be able to continue on several of her prescriptions, including Adderall and Ambien, while in jail.
Her multiple medications have long been a source of worry to her father, Michael Lohan, who told Media’s Maria Menounos earlier this month that Lindsay’s drug intake was “toxic.”
“That combination will kill her,” Michael said.

Despite the casting rumors, no one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor in a film based around her life and romance with Richard Burton, according to the Dame herself.
The celebrated actress, Dame and multiple Oscar winner hit her Twitter on Thursday night to set the record straight over rumors that several Hollywood actresses – including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angelina Jolie — were in the running to play her in a movie about her life and legendary relationship with Burton.

“Hold your horses world. I’ve been hearing all kinds of rumours about someone being cast to play me in a film about Richard and myself,” Dame Liz Tweeted on Thursday. “No one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor, but Elizabeth Taylor herself.”
The Dame went on to note that someone could play her one-day, but showed her fiery spirit by noting it won’t be any time soon.
“Not at least until I’m dead, and at the moment I’m having too much fun being alive…and I plan on staying that way,” she added. “Happiness to all.”
The BBC previously reported that a film was rumored to be planned based around Elizabeth and Burton’s relationship, based on a book by Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger.

Taylor Swift Announces New Album; ‘Speak Now’ Due Oct. 25

Two years after her sophomore smash “Fearless,” Taylor Swift is ready to let her music “Speak” to her fans again.
The country superstar will release her third studio album, “Speak Now,” on October 25, she announced on Tuesday.
“Saying the right thing at the right moment is so crucial that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I’ve begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything,” Taylor said in a press release of her new effort.
Even though Taylor isn’t ready for a bare-all confession about her feelings, she has cleverly translated her unspoken thoughts and emotions into songs for her new album, “Speak Now,” dedicating each song to an individual in her life.
“These songs are made up of words I didn’t say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person,” Taylor explained.
“Speak Now,” which contains 14 tracks all written by Taylor, will be released on October 25, and will be available for special pre-sale beginning August 20 HERE.
The first single, “Mine,” will be released on August 16.

Wissam Al Mana: Dating Janet Jackson!

t’s been a tough year for Janet Jackson, but she’s happier lately.
New boyfriend Wissam Al Mana could be a big reason for that.
After splitting from longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri after a seven-year relationship last summer, Jackson slowly eased into this new romance. The pop star and her man were snapped soaking up the rays in Sardinia, Italy.
The 44-year-old Why Did I Get Married Too? star and the 35-year-old businessman from Qatar, who owns homes worldwide, have been quietly enjoying each other’s company, according to reports. Glad she’s moving on and happy!
It’s nice to see Michael’s sister happy again.
We’re guessing Wissam Al Mana approves of  Janet’s new haircut too.
In non-romance news, she’s currently writing True You, an exercise and nutrition book. She told Essence she “wanted to write this book because [she] wanted kids to have something to read and know that they are beautiful as they are.”

Lindsay Lohan’s Jail Neighbor: Burglar Bunch Member

Lindsay Lohan may be segregated from the general population in the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynnwood, Calif., but her nearest jail neighbor is an old acquaintance… of sorts.
Access Hollywood has learned that Alexis Neiers, the very woman who plead no contest to burglarizing Orlando Bloom’s home, is being housed in the cell next to the actress.
Lohan is in cell #28, while Neiers is in #29.
According to E! News, Neiers is in Paris Hilton’s old cell at the facility.
Lohan is not expected to have contact with other inmates while she is in jail, but the cells are reportedly close enough that the two women could talk if they wanted to.
Neiers was connected to the group of several young people who were accused of burglarizing the homes of several celebs in 2009 including Bloom, Lohan, Hilton and Rachel Bilson.
In related news, Mediachunks has learned that Lohan’s physical contact with the outside world will be kept to a minimum while she is inside. Her visits with her attorney will be through glass, via a phone. Additionally, showers will be isolated and break time for activities will also be done without others around.

Vanessa Hudgens using anti-aging products at 21

High School Musical actress Vanessa Hudgens uses anti-aging products, even though she is only 21.
The star, who is the face of some of Neutrogena’s products, said to UK newspaper Daily Record: “I’m already starting to use anti-aging. You might as well start sooner than later because products are really amazing these days. You might as well start now, put a little lotion on rather than having to get wrinkles. I think it’s smart to start soon. It’s a good beauty tip.”
