Dunno Y...Na Jaane Kyun gets IFFI, London Nod

Sanjay Sharma's ‘Dunno Y... Na Jaane Kyun’ is receiving praises at various film fests. With the international media lapping it up and the film being chosen at the I View New York Film Festival, winning an award and the closing ceremony of Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, the latest news is that the film has been selected at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in London.
To make it even more special, the film will be screened at the historic Riverside Studios, which has been enjoying a cult status for above 25 years as the hub for original and groundbreaking cinema and is frequented by 15,000 British cine goers.
‘Dunno Y...’ would be sharing the stage with filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra for his retrospection of work. It is also going to be premiered along with Aamir Khan's ‘Peepli [Live]’ and Vishal Bharadwaj's ‘Ishqiya’.
The film marks the comeback of Zeenat Aman who stars alongside Helen playing her daughter-in-law, and Kapil Sharma,Yuvraaj Parashar, Maradona Rebello, Rituparna Sengupta.
'Dunno Y...' also portrays relationships, especially gay relationship with all sensitivity that the subject deserves. After wowing people in South Africa, US, Canada, UK, etc, ‘Dunno Y... Na Jaane Kyun’ is ready for the IFFI audience’s feedback this August.

Zeenat Aman makes a bold comeback

So far Bollywood films that show nudity or lovemaking scenes have been called bold. But, the true sense of the word is being portrayed by Sanjay Sharma’s DUNNO Y… NA JAAE KYUN.
The film has a homosexual relation as its crux and shows the first ever man to man kiss rather truthfully. The main role of the film is being played by debutant Kapil Sharma who has no qualms about doing such a brave portrayal. And, the temptress of yore Zeenat Aman also makes her comeback with this one. She is also remembered for her bindaas and bold image, whether playing a drug addict in HARE RAM HARE KRISHNA or her skin show in QURBAANI. For her comeback, though, she plays Helen’s daughter-in-law in the film.
DUNNO Y is being considered an important work in Hindi cinema for it “Breaks the ultimate taboo in Bollywood” as Toronto Sun Canada acknowledges or “First film in India’s history to treat homosexuality seriously” as said by Trinity News Ireland.
Well, with this kind of response, the film is sure to break new grounds globally!
