Anil Kapoor won’t charge fee for acting in the remake of a Marathi film produced by Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation

Anil Kapoor will work for free in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Hindi remake of Mee Shivajiraje Bhosle Boltoy (MSBB), produced bySalman Khan’s Being Human Foundation.
ays a source, “Anil and Mahesh met at Khan’s house a few days ago to finalise the details. An announcement will be made shortly, Anil is expected to play the role Sachin Khedekar played in the original.”
Manjrekar prefers to be guarded. He says, “We are in talks with stars but at this stage, I do not want to name anyone. There is many a slip between the cup and the lip. Once everything is on paper, we will make a formal announcement.”
Mee Shivajiraje…, which released in April 2009, was penned by Manjrekar who played the title role. Themovie is about an ordinary middle-class Maharashtrian (played by Khedekar) who finds nothing going right for him.
Enter Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who transforms his life and tells him to take responsibility for what he does.
The film is akin to Lage Raho Munnabhai, which had Mahatma Gandhi guiding Munnabhai. Like Munnabhai, who alone could see the Father of the Nation, in MSBB, only the simple Maharashtrian guy can see the Chhatrapati.
Apart from MSBB, Manjrekar’s other Marathi film Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho (SAG), which takes on the educational system, is also being produced under the Being Human banner.
Adds Manjrekar, “I will be remaking both films. SAG will go on the floors first.”
Salman Khan and Kangna Ranaut are slated to feature in the SAG remake and Sallu will play dad to two kids.
Buzz is that the proceeds of the movies will entirely go towards the Being Human Foundation charities.
Anil Kapoor remained unavailable for comment.

LAHORE girl in Madhur’s DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI

Shot to fame with her critically acclaimed debut film LAHORE, Shraddha Das certainly has a reason to celebrate. Shraddha has outdone 100 girls to be casted in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Rom-Com- DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI as one of the leading ladies. The film stars big names like Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and the Chatur of 3 IDIOTS, Omi Vaidya. Shraddha is paired opposite Omi in the film.
The actress went for the auditions of this movie and was one of the 100 young women who were auditioned for the role she bagged. “After my auditions I did not hear from anyone from the movie. I was heartbroken and just didn’t know what to do. But when I finally got a call and they said that out of the 100 women they auditioned I have been selected for the role, I couldn’t stop jumping with happiness,” she says.
Shraddha has done some movies in the south and made her Hindi film debut in LAHORE. But it has always been her dream to be a part of Madhur’s movie. “I haven’t stopped smiling since the day I was signed on for DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI. My dream has come true and this is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life. Now I would tell people to dream more because dreams do come true,” says a very excited Shraddha.
The actress has been a part of many blockbuster movies down south and is known as the sequel queen because she has been a part of sequels of many Telugu movies like ARYA 2, MANTRA 2 and CHANDRAMUKHI 2. She has also sung song called ‘Gajjala Gurram’ in a Telugu movie titled SYE AATA.
Shraddha has seen all the movies made by Madhur and is a big fan of him, as she calls him her dream director. “I love his cinematic sensibilities. I have seen CHANDNI BAR, PAGE 3, CORPORATE, TRAFFIC SIGNAL and FASHION. What I really like about his movies is that women in his movies are not just a pretty picture in the frame. He makes all the characters in his movie important. When I was given the offer to be a part of this movie, I just said ‘YES’ without bothering to know what my role is going to be. I know that whatever he makes me do in this movie, I will have an identity and the character will be worth working on,” she further shares.
Well dreams do come true, is what this instance sums up. So keep dreaming and chasing your dreams, like Shraddha, who is now shooting for Madhur’s film in Mumbai and is on cloud nine, with joy no bound.

Sonam Kapoor turns fashion designer

You are going to love actor Abhay Deol’s Arjun Barman look in his forthcoming film,AISHA produced by Anil Kapoor Films Company. What’s more, couturier fashion designer Kunal Rawal sought inputs for this exquisite look from not anybody else but the heroine of the film and his good friend, Sonam Kapoor. After all, the fairer sex has the best fashion sense.
The actress, who delivered the biggest hit of her career with I HATE LUV STORYS, sure seems to have some hidden talents as her friend, Kunal reveals. “Sonam is a multi-tasker and she has multiple talents. The fact that her father-sister duo is producing the film gave her a lot of creative freedom and the power to implement them. When Sonam Kapoor’s pant slip off

Wardrobe Malfunction has been experienced by many Bollywood beauties like Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, Kangana Ranaut, Sherlyn Chopra and several others. Adding another name to the list is the Kapoor scion Sonam Kapoor. Sonam nearly escaped wardrobe malfunction. Her pants was about to slip off completely.
It all happened at the promotional event of ‘Aisha’ at a radio station recently. Sonam in full upbeat mood was interacting and dancing with her fans. Slowly, her pants started to slip. Conscious Sonam quickly managed the situation and lifted her pant. Two things are assumed, her pant might have loosen or the pins might have broken down.
Whatever, she acted smartly and managed the situation. Her assistant quickly stepped in and fastened the trousers again with a safety pin.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor and directed by Rajshree Ojha, ‘Aisha’ featured Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the lead.

Emraan Hashmi breaks his rule with ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI

For Emraan, it was fascinating to work in a film like ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI since it enabled him to relive the era gone’ something about which he had only heard from his parents.
“My dad has been through the times in the 70s and the 80s when underworld stories had first started making headlines. As a kid, I used to chance upon hearing such stories”, recollects Emraan, “Now that Milan was narrating the script to me, I found myself exploring the roots of where it all began. Underworld figures have always been larger than life and what we get to see in the film is some really fascinating stuff. I am sure we have a winner in hands.”

Mugdha and Bobby lock lips in HELP?

Being looked upon as this year’s one of most unconventional on screen pairs, Bobby Deol and Mugdha Godse will be seen in some very cosy scenes in their upcoming horror film HELP, when it hits the theatres on Friday the 13th in August 2010.
With changing times in Bollywood, nowadays movie promotion has become one of the most important factors contributing to a film’s success and production houses use aggressive marketing strategies and some out of the box ideas for the same. In symmetry to this, HELP has already managed to set ablaze the markets with the bikini photos of Mugdha which have been doing the media rounds lately. Now we see some ecstatic intimate pictures of Bobby and Mugdha from HELP and from one of the pictures one can easily guess a near lip-lock between the two, which has come out as a latest tool of promotion for the film. But have Mugdha and Bobby really locked the lips in the film or not, well this still remains a mystery, which the makers of the film might reveal at later stages of promotion.

NAUGHTY @FORTY Govinda and youthful Yuvika in Manali!

Bollywood’s favourite destination in India, Manali, which has been deprived of shooting and film stars for a while has seen quite an influx of people from the tinsel town ever since the Deepa Mehta directed TERE MERE PHERE and Vipul Shah’s Akki-Ash starrer ACTION REPLAYY knocked on it’s doors.
The latest to arrive in Manali is comedy king Govinda aka Chi Chi.
The crew of the Jagmohan Mundhra directed NAUGHTY @ FORTY reached Manali on Sunday itself, followed by the OSO girl, Yuvika Chaudhari.
The local coordinator, Rajkumar Dogra, has revealed that the famous scenic spots of Manali and it’s surroundings, like Solang Valley, snow laden Marhi, the dangerous Rohtang Pass, the incredible Rahla fall, heritage village Nagger along with the extremely picturesque Kothi and Gulaba valley have already been earmarked for shooting .
The unit is expected to complete the shooting in around twenty days.
The local people as well as the tourists are hoping to meet the artists and especially the fans of Govinda (last here for RADHA KA SANGAM in the early 90s) are pretty excited at the prospect of meeting him.

Shahrukh Khan’s double shift

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is working really hard these days. Currently he’s shooting in UK for his film RA.ONE. And on his latest twitter update, SRK mentions that he is working in double shifts for the first time in his career.

What’s cooking between Sonam and Abhay?

The room was filled up with loud bursts of laughter when after a sudden pause the lollipop girl said, “No, he’s not my type.” The lollipop girl’s answer was enough to leave one with a sour taste but the chocolate boy was sweet enough to taste it.
No, this is not a candy store but an In-Studio Special with chocolate boy Abhay Deol, lollipop girl Sonam Kapoor and Encounter Specialist Omar. A lot of banter, fun and humour on this AISHA special with the lead couple.

When Deepika had to hit Neil with a broom

During the making of LAFANGEY PARINDEY, Pradeep Sarkar, was rehearsing for a scene in which Deepika Padukone had to beat Neil Nitin Mukesh and his friends first with a broom and then by throwing a pail of water on them.
He insisted that Deepika was not doing the scene correctly. So he picked up a jhaadu(broom) himself and hit Neil and Namit on their bums. Both of them stood, holding their bums while Deepika and the whole unit burst into laughter.
LAFANGEY PARINDEY is all set to release on August 20.

Now Catrina vs Katrina

Katrina Kaif is up for some competition. Someone who shares her first name is making her presence felt in B-Town these days.
Yes, we are talking about Catrina Lopez, who makes her debut in the upcoming film BHINDI BAAZAAR.
Like Katina Kaif, who made a bold debut in the film BOOM, Catrina is also following the same route. In BHINDI BAAZAAR which features Kay Kay Menon and veteran actress Deepti Naval, Catrina has done a bold item number in which she has almost bared it all.
With a name that reminds of the current heartthrob Katrina Kaif, Catrina wishes to capture the public attention with this common factor. Now will she be as successful as her namesake is something we all will be keenly watching out for.
BHINDI BAZAAR is a gripping account of politics set amongst the dark underbelly of Mumbai pickpocketeers in the infamous and densely populated area of Mumbai’s BHINDI BAZAAR. The movie is all set to release during this EID. It is directed by Ankush Bhat and written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali.

Arjun: I have been a huge fan of Kajol

Rest assured, Arjun Rampal is being remembered a lot more by Karan Johar when it comes to casting for his productions. After a cameo in KABHI ALVIDA NA KEHNA, he has elevated Arjun to the position of a solo male lead in STEPMOM remake - WE ARE FAMILY.
“It has been great fun doing the film. The good part is that when Siddharth (Malhotra), the director, came to me with the film, he ensured that it was not a frame to frame copy of the original. He has got a lot of maturity there. I was very moved with the script that was read out to me because I could see so many different angles that he had brought out”, says Arjun who has to deal with two women in the film.
Arjun has never shared screen space before with either Kajol or Kareena, both of whom are known for being scene stealers. No wonder, there indeed was some task cut out for the actor.

Salman trains Sonakshi

It’s learnt that Salman Khan shared a few fitness tips with her new co-star Sonakshi Sinha during the shoot of his film DABANGG.
Salman, who is very protective about Sonakshi helped her lose weight during the shoot of the film. Not only that, it’s also learnt that Salman maintained a tight control over Sonakshi’s diet habits and only made her eat fat free food.
It’s a well known fact that Salman is a fitness freak and he made Sonakshi also get into the habit. Now, Sonakshi is all excited about the fact that Salman made her lose some extra pounds during the shoot. She can’t stop thanking Sallu for this great help

Distressed Antara Mali turns Monk

Remember Antara Mali? The girl who created enough hullabaloo with RGV’s films, especially, MAIN MADHURI DIXIT BANNA CHAHTI HOON, COMPANY, GAYAB, NAACH, MR YA MISS. Well the actress, who sort of vanished for quite a while, has turned a Buddhist monk.
Oh! Before you make your grey cells active, let us tell you that it’s the role which she plays in veteran actor and now a director, Amol Palekar’s upcoming film AND ONCE AGAIN. The film also stars Rajat Kapoor and Rituparna Sengupta. Antara Mali plays Rajat Kapoor’s first wife ‘Savitri’, who in a violent attack gets alienated and later ends up being a monk in Sikkim.
Amol Palekar’s AND ONCE AGAIN talks about while dealing with intricacies of man-woman relationship, the film subtly talks about repercussions of violence on human life: its lingering shadow on all of us with its startling shades! Somehow we manage to draw a line between our past and present…
In Amol Palekar’s AND ONCE AGAIN, Antara dons a completely de-glam avatar. Infact to play the monk, she has even shaved her head.
It seems she is quite serious about her second innings in Bollywood. Welcome back Antara!

First look – Dabangg

The name is Chulbul Pandey. And he calls himself Robinhood. As a cool cop he kicks-in-a-punch with zealous panache. Salman Khan is back with a powerful vengeance determined to repeat the ‘Wanted’ magic. For there’s an electrifying energy as the two and a half minute First Look promo of Arbaaz Khan Production’s ‘Dabangg’ gets over leaving you gasping for breath and panting for more. Directed by feisty Anurag Kashyap’s brother Abhinav Kashyap, ‘Dabangg’ looks like a deadly combo of unbridled realism and adrenaline thumping macho daredevilry.

DABANGG isn’t WANTED’s sequel : Arbaaz Khan

The promo of Salman Khan’s DABANGG is out and those who have seen it are raving about it. It looks uncannily similar to the 2009 Salman Khan starrer WANTED. However, Arbaaz Khan, who is the producer of DABANGG doesn’t think so.
“DABANGG isn’t WANTED’s sequel. It’s very different from WANTED. It’s far more in a believable space though it’s a commercial film. The action is similar to WANTED but that’s about it. That was a city based film. Ours is a small town slick action drama. But the kind of audience that liked WANTED is surely going to like DABANGG.”

Katrina reveals her love for…

Very few know that Bollywood’s leading lady Katrina Kaif loves to dance and is always keen on learning new styles of dance. Says Katrina, “I enjoy dancing immensely.
Though her last 2 releases – AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI and RAAJNEETI didn’t see her in out and out dance numbers, she is ready to get back to her passion in director/choreographer Farah Khan’s TEES MAAR KHAN.

Zeenat Aman makes a bold comeback

So far Bollywood films that show nudity or lovemaking scenes have been called bold. But, the true sense of the word is being portrayed by Sanjay Sharma’s DUNNO Y… NA JAAE KYUN.
The film has a homosexual relation as its crux and shows the first ever man to man kiss rather truthfully. The main role of the film is being played by debutant Kapil Sharma who has no qualms about doing such a brave portrayal. And, the temptress of yore Zeenat Aman also makes her comeback with this one. She is also remembered for her bindaas and bold image, whether playing a drug addict in HARE RAM HARE KRISHNA or her skin show in QURBAANI. For her comeback, though, she plays Helen’s daughter-in-law in the film.
DUNNO Y is being considered an important work in Hindi cinema for it “Breaks the ultimate taboo in Bollywood” as Toronto Sun Canada acknowledges or “First film in India’s history to treat homosexuality seriously” as said by Trinity News Ireland.
Well, with this kind of response, the film is sure to break new grounds globally!
