Kareena Kapoor to become double mom!

It’s not every day that a leading heroine of the Hindi film industry has the courage to essay the role of a mother, but we know quite a few who have done it with ease and elan. Kajol (MY NAME IS KHAN), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (KUCH NAA KAHO) and Rani Mukerjee (TARA RUM PUM ) are a few that come to mind instantly.

However, it will be a totally new experience for Kareena as well as the audience to see her portraying the role of a mother in not one but two of her forthcoming films. The first as anyone can guess is Karan Johar’s WE ARE FAMILY where Kareena plays stepmom to Kajol’s kids.

The year 2010 has been very good for Arjun Rampal. He has been a part of two of the biggest hits of the year, Sajid Khan’s HOUSEFULL and Prakash Jha’s RAAJNEETI. And the icing on the cake is that the audiences as well as the critics have been full of praise for Arjun in both the films.

While HOUSEFULL was a laugh riot and RAAJNEETI a political drama, in both the cases Arjun’s strong, macho image was exploited by the makers. However, in his next film, Karan Johar’s We ARE FAMILY, a remake of Hollywood’s STEPMOM the case is just the opposite.

Kareena goes against Saif

The size zero Kareena Kapoor will be back. Kareena who has gained some weight recently will again sweat out to get into size zero figure. Bebo has experienced several odd instances of rigorous work-out and dieting like collapsing on the set, dizziness and so on. All those incidents did not go well with Saif Ali Khan and he strictly restricted Bebo from going back to size zero. But the actress went against Saif’s wording and started working out rigorously for her next film opposite Imran Khan.

The film in question is Karan Johar’s ‘Short Term Shaadi’ which is an adaptation of Cameron Diaz-Ashton Kutcher starrer ‘What Happened in Vegas’. To match up to Imran Khan’s looks, Karan asked her not only to cut her size but also to short her hair.

Kareena’s decision upset her beau as she has signed the project against Saif’s decision.

Both Imran and Kareena are not reluctant to spill the beams. When asked about the project, Imran quips, "I’m not at liberty to discuss anything about the film right now.”.

Rani Ready to work with Aamir in Karan Johar film!

Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee who was last seen in “Dil Bole Haddipa” is eager to work with director Karan Johar again and wishes to be paired opposite Aamir Khan.

“What do u think on idea to pair Rani with Aamir? It would be great 4 me,” Rani posted on her Twitter account.

The 32-year-old who has worked in Karan Johar films like “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (1998), “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” (2001) and “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” (2006), posted her desire to work again with the filmmaker.

“Do u plan to make your next movie with Rani in a leading role? That would be great. Come on KJo, do a movie with Rani,” she posted.

The actress has earlier worked with Aamir in films like “Ghulam” (1997) and “Mangal Pandey: The Rising” (2005).

Kareena to fill up Pregnant Kajol’s absence

Versatile actress Kajol is expecting her second baby and as a result she won’t be available to promote her upcoming release, Karan Johar’s ‘We Are Family’ which is a remake of Hollywood film, ‘Stepmom’ starring Julia Roberts and Susan Saradon. Kajol’s delivery date coincides with the film promotional tour and so she won’t be available.

The entire task of promoting the film has been taken by Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. Knowing Kajol’s condition, Kareena Kapoor told Karan that she will give all her time in promoting the film. The highly anticipated family drama is slated for Eid release in September.

Siddarth Malhotra, the director of the film said, “Yes the film is releasing on Eid. It is everybody’s film and all the actors would be present whenever they are available. Expecting Kajol to travel everywhere is asking a bit too much.”

A source informs, “It is unfair to ask Kajol to travel and promote the film as she is expecting. Kareena is helping in her absence by giving out bulk dates. Kareena has told Karan that she will be available for all the promotional activities. The film is very close to her heart.”
