Imran Khan Is Not Afraid Of Being Typecast

Imran Khan is the current lover boy of Bollywood. Yesterday, his rom-com BREAK KE BAAD, opposite Deepika Padukone released. His previous release was I HATE LUV STORYS, another romantic comedy, starring Sonam Kapoor. Imran is also going to romance Kareena Kapoor in SHORT TERM SHAADI.

So is Imran afraid of being typecast as a lover boy?

No. On the contrary Imran is least bothered. He says, "I don't care if I am typecast. It doesn't matter to me till I keep doing good films. If my work is good, I will be appreciated irrespective of the kind or genre of the film and role."

The charming young actor is quick to highlight that he is also doing DELHI BELLY, an offbeat film.

Imran has worked in KIDNAP and LUCK, which weren’t rom-coms. But these two films failed miserably. One can only wait and watch to see if Imran can prove himself in genres besides romantic comedies.

Kareena Kapoor is numero uno again!

Sitting cozily on her number one position, Kareena Kapoor makes it to the Filmfare Power List 2009. Taking into account the ability to bankroll projects, pack in theatres and be seen and heard on mediums, the magazine drew out their list of Bollywood’s most powerful.

Her strong presence on the male dominated list for two consecutive years in a row proves yet again that she is Bollywood’s Czarina. Moving two places higher on the list this year Kareena Kapoor made it to the 8th spot from the 10th spot she occupied in 2008.

Brand Bebo has much reason to celebrate this year as she was also titled “Best Ambassador”, crowned highest paid actress and bagged the most brand endorsements. She was also the sole Indian ambassador for the international leg of the Global Campaign for education – 1Goal.

Kareena’s four-legged companion, Facebook

Don’t scratch your head… Allow us to solve the puzzle…

Our birdies brought in this news that director Rohit Shetty in his forthcoming comedy caper ‘Golmaal 3’ has roped in a dog. The four-legged actor, which had first made its appearance in Shetty’s ‘All The Best’, will be this time Kareena Kapoor's on-screen pet.

And amusingly it has been named as Facebook, courtesy by director himself. The name was applauded by his cast and crew and so Rohit believes that the name will click with the audience as well.

‘Golmaal 3’ stars Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu. Not to left behind in the all-boy gang, Kareena plays a tomboy in this one. Throughout the film, the babe said to feature in T-shirts with funny quotes on them.

Kareena Kapoor to become double mom!

It’s not every day that a leading heroine of the Hindi film industry has the courage to essay the role of a mother, but we know quite a few who have done it with ease and elan. Kajol (MY NAME IS KHAN), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (KUCH NAA KAHO) and Rani Mukerjee (TARA RUM PUM ) are a few that come to mind instantly.

However, it will be a totally new experience for Kareena as well as the audience to see her portraying the role of a mother in not one but two of her forthcoming films. The first as anyone can guess is Karan Johar’s WE ARE FAMILY where Kareena plays stepmom to Kajol’s kids.

Sanjay Dutt and Kareena – EK ANOKHI PREM KAHANI

After a long hiatus, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt are back in Manjrekar’s ambitious film EK ANOKHI PREM KAHANI that will also star Kareena Kapoor.

The film is a story of a blind girl and a badly disfigured man. Says Manjrekar, “The film was planned with Sanju and Kareena in mind after the latter debuted in J P Dutta’s film REFUGEE in 2000. Her pristine beauty and innocence was what I needed to play up against the character Sanju will play in the film.”

Dutt and Manjrekar, who had worked together in sensitive films like VAASTAV and VIRUDDH among many others did not see eye-to-eye for a long time till they met up at the recently held IIFA awards ceremony and patched up.

Kareena goes against Saif

The size zero Kareena Kapoor will be back. Kareena who has gained some weight recently will again sweat out to get into size zero figure. Bebo has experienced several odd instances of rigorous work-out and dieting like collapsing on the set, dizziness and so on. All those incidents did not go well with Saif Ali Khan and he strictly restricted Bebo from going back to size zero. But the actress went against Saif’s wording and started working out rigorously for her next film opposite Imran Khan.

The film in question is Karan Johar’s ‘Short Term Shaadi’ which is an adaptation of Cameron Diaz-Ashton Kutcher starrer ‘What Happened in Vegas’. To match up to Imran Khan’s looks, Karan asked her not only to cut her size but also to short her hair.

Kareena’s decision upset her beau as she has signed the project against Saif’s decision.

Both Imran and Kareena are not reluctant to spill the beams. When asked about the project, Imran quips, "I’m not at liberty to discuss anything about the film right now.”.

Bebo is madly in love with Saif Ali Khan

Kareena kapoor falls deeper into love with boyfriend Saifu every single day. She says he’s not only good as a lover but also a rocking producer.
While shooting for ‘Agent Vinod’ in Tangiers and Marrakech, even the slightest discomfort of Bebo was taken care by Saif.“Saif is the best producer I have worked with. He takes care of everything for me and sees to my littlest of comforts”, quips Bebo.Apart from Bebo, Saif also took care of his crew and looked after their discomfort. After the shoot, he threw a lavish wrap up party for the entire cast and the crew in an expensive nightclub in Marrakech.A source close to his girlfriend says, “Bebo and Saif have been shooting for Agent Vinod in Tangiers and Marrakech for 20 days now. When they shot in Tangiers, Saif had hired beautiful villas (called riads) for everyone. Each riad had its own private beach and terrace and was very close to the Atlas mountainsand desert. Kareena loved the place as it had a very simple, grungy look.”Then the unit shifted to Marrakech. “Saif had a schedule wrap up party after we packed up there. Saif and his business partner Dinesh Vijan invited the entire crew to dance the night away at Theatro, a very expensive nightclub. One can also avail of personal DJs, it’s that exclusive.”’Agent Vinod’ directed by Sriram Raghavan comes from Saif’s production house

Kareena to fill up Pregnant Kajol’s absence

Versatile actress Kajol is expecting her second baby and as a result she won’t be available to promote her upcoming release, Karan Johar’s ‘We Are Family’ which is a remake of Hollywood film, ‘Stepmom’ starring Julia Roberts and Susan Saradon. Kajol’s delivery date coincides with the film promotional tour and so she won’t be available.

The entire task of promoting the film has been taken by Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. Knowing Kajol’s condition, Kareena Kapoor told Karan that she will give all her time in promoting the film. The highly anticipated family drama is slated for Eid release in September.

Siddarth Malhotra, the director of the film said, “Yes the film is releasing on Eid. It is everybody’s film and all the actors would be present whenever they are available. Expecting Kajol to travel everywhere is asking a bit too much.”

A source informs, “It is unfair to ask Kajol to travel and promote the film as she is expecting. Kareena is helping in her absence by giving out bulk dates. Kareena has told Karan that she will be available for all the promotional activities. The film is very close to her heart.”

Shah Rukh Khan starrer RA.1 sold for Rs 175 crores!!

Shah Rukh Khan- Kareena Kapoor starrer upcoming flick ‘Ra.1’, which is a science fiction involving the use of high gadgetry and special effects, being directed by Anubhav Sinha, has been sold for a huge amount of Rs175 crores to Eros International even before its completion.

The movie has Shah Rukh Khan playing the character of a superman for the first time in his bollywood career, while ravishing Kareena Kapoor plays his wife with an eight-year-old child.

The film is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s own production house Red Chillies Entertainment and Hollywood’s technicians have been roped in to create that superb effect on the audience. The huge amount has surprised the industry watchers, and this is especially so, as it comes after the debacle of two biggies—Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kites’ and Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Raavan’.

Sources in the Industry say that Shah Rukh Khan’s another film ‘Don 2’ has also been sold to Reliance Big Picture for as high price as Rs 125 crores.

This Farhan Akhtar’s sequel to his first hit film of the same name is yet to go on the floors for the shooting but distributors have already bought its rights. ‘Don 2’ has Priyanka Chopra playing the lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Trade sources say that Shah Rukh Khan’s films generally bring good revenue to the distributors and that is the reason they are willing to invest crores of rupees on his upcoming movies.

Even an average flick, that stars King Khan, is able to recover its cost and earn handsome profit for makers of the flick, while others’ movies put them in huge losses(remember ‘Blue’ ‘Chandni Chowk To China’, ‘Kites’, ‘Raavan’ etc).

This buying spree of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Ra 1’ and ‘Don 2’ also shows the clout that King Khan still has in the tinsel town. He is only person who can command such a huge investment even before the flick is on the floor for shooting.

Presently, Shah Rukh is busy with the shooting of his upcoming flick ‘Ra 1’ in London. Arjun Rampal, who is also a close friend of King Khan, plays an important character in the film.

Insiders say that Arjun even went bald for his character in the film to infuse it with a touch of realism.
